The July 16 update for College Football 27 fundamentally changes how two of the game's most popular modes work. Here's what Dynasty and Road to Glory players need to know.
Dynasty Changes
Coach XP no longer uses granular sliders. Instead, you choose from three speed presets: Career, Simulation, and Casual. This applies to all coaches in your Dynasty — both user and CPU. Online Dynasty commissioners control the global setting, so all league members play with the same progression speed.
Recruiting AI has been overhauled. CPU teams now compete for top talent instead of passively watching four-star recruits disappear. The changes are retroactive, so your existing save will benefit, though the full effect will show up in the next recruiting cycle or new Dynasty.
Road to Glory Changes
Standalone XP sliders are not returning. EA has doubled down on the design philosophy that Road to Glory progression is tied to a full system: difficulty, weekly agenda, fitness, leadership, NIL, wear and tear, legacy score, and scholarships.
The EDGE position battle bug has been partially fixed. A more complete fix is coming next week. EA's workaround: if you're still stuck, transfer to another school until the next update arrives.
The Bottom Line
Dynasty gets more flexible. Road to Glory gets more fixed. The community reaction is mixed — Dynasty players appreciate the new options, while Road to Glory players continue to criticize the removal of XP sliders.
